''Earth Song'' public mural

As a painter, I’ve long been drawn to the scale and immediacy of public art. There’s something powerful about creating work that lives outside the confines of a gallery, that becomes part of the city’s daily rhythm. So when I was invited to paint a mural on a New York City street, I saw it as an opportunity to bring a deeply personal vision into a shared space.

The mural, Earth Song, is a meditation on nature—specifically, the delicate relationship between marine life, plant life, and human life. I’ve always had a fascination with octopuses: strange, brilliant creatures with three hearts and a capacity for curiosity that rivals our own. In many ways, they became the emotional anchor of the piece.

This work is my way of honoring the interconnectedness of all living things—a quiet reminder, set against the noise of the city, that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.
